Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve found pure joy in surrounding myself with beauty and color.

My journey into design began, and still is, with a deep belief that great design can truly change lives. After years of watching the construction process up close, I found myself thinking daily, “I could make this so much better.” So, I took the leap into the contracting world to do just that.

The home is such a personal, intimate part of our lives, and I’m grateful every day for the trust people place in me to bring their spaces to life.

So whether you are looking for a contractor, designer or just here for fun I’m so greatful to be part of your journey.

Kara grew up in San Diego, CA. After receiving her Art Degree, she spent a few years as a professional graphic designer using color and design for marketing in the action sports industry. Through some trial and error she found her love of construction and design truly met as an interior designer and she has never looked back.

Kara started KNC Design Group in 2020. A little after her first child was born. She recently obtained her contractors license in 2025. She currently lives in Alpine, CA with her husband and two children. Her true passion lies in construction and functionality. It is a cherry on top that she gets to make spaces beautiful with finishes as well.

"Walking a construction site for me is an indescribable feeling. I love being able to envision a completely empty pad with a few 2x4s and make it into something beautiful. To me, it is one of the best feelings in the world."

I'M KIRSTI,
THE ORGANIZATION AT KNC

Kirsti grew up in Grand Junction, CO and Boise, ID. After graduating from Boise State, she decided to move to sunny San Diego which had always been a dream of hers. Kirsti has an extensive background in banking and operations.

She joined KNC in 2023 and is a wiz at procurement and keeping everything organized on the back end! Kirsti's true passion is traveling and she can often be found out of the country with her husband traveling the world. Though she always responds in a very timely manner, she will likely be doing it from the beaches in Thailand or on a train in England, and we love her for it!
